Velvetnoon is a Copenhagen-rooted fashion and lifestyle label founded by Danish designer Iben Maria Fredsøe.
With more than two decades of experience in fashion, couture and craftsmanship, Iben has always been drawn to the extraordinary — the unexpected detail, the beautiful material and the quiet craftsmanship behind a truly special piece.
For many years, she created couture from her boutique behind the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen, designing bespoke gowns for the red carpet, stage and special occasions. Her creations have been worn by artists, actors and musicians, from Danish television and Melodi Grand Prix to international award shows.
Today, that same couture sensibility lives on in Velvetnoon — but with a different starting point.
FROM THE PAST, SOMETHING NEW
Rather than beginning with newly produced fabrics, Iben searches for materials that already carry a story.
Vintage embroideries.
Worn denim.
Military textiles.
Old tapestries.
Forgotten fabrics.
Unexpected remnants with character and history.
These materials are carefully selected and transformed into contemporary pieces that are impossible to replicate.
A vintage textile that might once have been overlooked can become a distinctive fashion piece. A forgotten fabric can become a bag. A material with decades of history can begin a completely new chapter.
This is the essence of Velvetnoon.
DESIGN WITH A HISTORY
Every Velvetnoon piece is designed and handmade in Lynæs, Denmark, in small quantities or as a true one-of-a-kind.
There is no mass production and no intention for two pieces to be identical.
Instead, each design embraces the character, imperfections and unexpected beauty of the original material.
The result is fashion with individuality — pieces that feel personal, distinctive and made to last beyond a season.

At Velvetnoon, we create one-of-a-kind Bumbags, accessories, knitwear and jewellery from carefully sourced textiles and materials, each given a new life through thoughtful upcycling.
Our collections bring together vintage embroideries, worn denim, military textiles, antique tapestries and other distinctive materials that might otherwise have been forgotten or discarded. We transform these fabrics into contemporary pieces that celebrate character, craftsmanship and the beauty of imperfection.
Because many of our pieces are individually handcrafted, no two designs are ever exactly alike. Every piece carries the unique character of its original material — and its own story.

Er alle Velvetnoon Bumbags unikke?
Ja. Alle vores Bumbags er håndlavede unika designs skabt af vintage- og upcyclede materialer. Derfor findes der som regel kun ét eksemplar af hver model. Når en vare er solgt, kan den sjældent genskabes præcis som den var.
Hvad betyder upcycling?
Upcycling betyder, at vi giver eksisterende materialer nyt liv. Hos Velvetnoon bruger vi blandt andet gamle broderier, jeans, militærtekstiler og andre oversete materialer, som forvandles til nye designs med historie, personlighed og sjæl. På den måde reduceres spild, samtidig med at hvert produkt får sit helt eget udtryk.
Hvor bliver Velvetnoons produkter lavet?
Alle Velvetnoons designs bliver skabt med stor kærlighed til håndværket. Mange af vores produkter designes og håndlaves i Lynæs, mens enkelte accessories fremstilles i samarbejde med nøje udvalgte europæiske producenter, der deler vores fokus på kvalitet og godt håndværk.
